As my blog is becoming more of a business, I find myself talking about it more with friends and acquaintances. Rather than continue scribbling my web address on a scrap of paper that’s likely to get lost, I decided it was time get some business cards to pass out!
I wanted them to be a simple reminder of my blog address and what it’s about, so I chose to use mostly pictures and few words. Amy had suggested including your avatar on your business card, which is a great idea! Not only is it helpful for people who haven’t met you in person before to recognize you, but for me it’s great because I know so many people would have a business card at the the bottom of their purse and wonder why.
Along with my avatar, I chose other pictures that are related to my blog and used the free program Picasa to easily make a collage out of pictures, which I uploaded to Kodak.
To print, I used the 50 free Kodak “Mommy Cards” that Carrie had posted about, so I only paid shipping. These have a logo on the back, but I don’t mind because I’m just trying to provide a reminder for local contacts to visit my blog- and the price is right!
On the front I have my pictures and my web address, on the back, I have my blog name, web address again (because that’s what I want them to use!), my slogan, and a little more about the site to convince them to visit.

These are just for informal meetings; if I was expecting to meet potential advertisers, I would have purchased business cards without logos on the back from Vista Print, which runs great sales but I find a little cumbersome to use, or UPrinting, which I’ve heard good things about.
On the back (or front if I was making my card one-sided) I would include all my contact information for advertisers, including:
- Blog name
- Blog address (www.healthhomehappy.com)
- Slogan
- First and last name
- Email address
- Telephone number
- PO box or UPS box address, optional
Do you have business cards for your blog yet? Do you find you need them more often locally or when at conferences and other events?

And, I don’t include my address. I was concerned it would bother people that my card didn’t have an address on it…but haven’t heard any objections.

Because my name is included in my url, I did not list my first and last name on the card.
At the very top in a large girly font it is http://www.crystalandcomp.com.
Then there is my real life picture and a breif summary of my blog in words.
I also included my email address at the bottom.
Then, on the back is my other business…

I gave a stash to my mom and mother in law (who might as well be my PR group- ha!) . I will attend my first conference in October and can not wait to pass them out then as well.
