Guidelines for the #SavvyBlogging Twitter Party

In order for everyone to get the most out of the #savvyblogging Twitter Party, we’d like to outline the questions and giveaways that will be going on during the party. We will be answering the following questions, in the order below…one question every 5-10 minutes or so. The questions are meant to facilitate discussion and keep us on track!

Giveaways: To be entered into the giveaway, you will have to tweet your answer with the #savvyblogging hashtag and a KEYWORD, that will be in ALL CAPS in the question. The keyword will send your tweet into the giveaway entry pool, and winners will be chosen from that pool.  Also, RTs will not be included in the giveaway pool.  You may enter each giveaway once.

Example #1: What are some best ways to promote your blog through SOCIAL MEDIA?

• Proper answer: Set up blog as a Networked Blog on Facebook. social media #savvyblogging (Contains the keyword and the hashtag.)
  
• Improper answer: Set up blog as a Networked Blog on Facebook. #savvyblogging (This answer is missing the keyword, SOCIAL MEDIA, and the tweet would not be sent into the giveaway pool.)

Example #2: What suggestions do you have to GROW my blog’s readership?

• Proper answer: Grow your readers by teaming up with other bloggers in your niche and cross promote. #savvyblogging (Contains the keyword and the hashtag.)
  
• Improper answer: Try guest posting on other blogs to increase your site’s readership. #savvyblogging (Missing the keyword, GROW.)

Because we only get 125 characters, after the hashtag, you’ll have to get creative with your answers. Remember…keyword and hashtag to get entered for each giveaway!!!

We will also post giveaway winners back on this site, as they are drawn. And winners will be contacted AFTER the party!

Because we have over 200 people who have RSVPed for the party, things WILL MOVE quickly! Here are a few suggestions to help you not miss a thing!

1. Keep a pen and paper nearby to jot down ideas as you read them.
2. Open a Word document and cut and paste any links you want to look at later.  (We don’t recommend trying to read other links during the party.)
3. Mark the tweets you want to come back to with a star, or as favorites.
4. RT a tweet you want to come back to later, so you can find it easily in your own Twitter stream.
5. If you start to get overwhelmed with the speed of the party, take a short break and then jump back in.  It will all still be available on the #savvyblogging hashtag stream!
6. We suggest either TweetGrid or TweetChat to follow the party (it will make it so much easier!!).
