Marketing Calendar – Plan out your marketing strategy and editorial calendar for the New Year
by Crystal Collins on December 31, 2012

A lot of you have asked about marketing and editorial calendars for the New Year. It’s a great time to rethink your business strategy. The most important thing to think about is not just your editorial calendar, but your entire marketing strategy.

Since it’s the New Year, let’s ask a couple questions of ourselves…

      1. What are your 3-5 year goals for your business? Do you want to write a book, speak at an event, quadruple your traffic, or invent and patent a product? Is your ultimate goal to appear on The View or be a guest on the Tonight Show? Whatever your aspirations are, it’s important to define them so that you can then make the plans that will get you to that ultimate goal.

      2. Define your goals and then work backwards through the calendar by setting up benchmarks to get where you want to be. If your goal is to speak at a big national convention, what are the minimum benchmarks that previous speakers at that convention met before speaking there?

This is what the Marketing Calendar Blueprint will help you do. Get 25% off with coupon code SAVVY25 until January 7, 2013.

    Hi guys,

Can you tell me if the marketing calendar blueprint is applicable for Aussie businesses? I understand one of the things it does is take into account seasonal factors. Are these equally applicable to Aust as they are for US businesses?

Fyi, I’m in the business productivity training / coaching niche.

    Chee,

No matter where you live there exist seasons in your niche. Yours will likely differ from a gardener in the U.K., but the seasons exist.

For instance, suppose you are coaching business owner’s in the “painting” niche. It would be useful to know that their busy season is October / November / December when people are sprucing up for holiday parties. That’s probably not a time to feature “how to get customers” on your site, but rather “managing business during the busy season”.

We used some U.S. based examples, but just like the one of the painter, to show you what you should be planning for.

    Hi guys,

Tried buying the calendar blueprint but it didn’t go through using 2 different credit cards. Any ideas guys? This was about 30 minutes ago. Called my bank – they’re not getting any requests or declined requests from your site either. That would suggest your site is not sending the request onto the bank.

Don’t worry about my last post, after trying 3 different credit cards, finally got one to go.

Tks. I’m working my way through it and it’s really useful so far.

Sorry you had problems with the credit card thing. What a bummer that is. Let us know if you have questions. :)
