How to Block Photos from Being Pinned to Pinterest
by Erin Chase on April 3, 2012

While the Pinterest craze has certainly provided a boost in traffic for many bloggers, it has also brought along quite the controversy about image copyrights, etc. Pinterest has taken care of it from their end by modifying their terms of use, but what can you do to protect yourself?

Enter the new WordPress plugin, Pinterest Block.

This plugin allows you to block images from being pinned in several ways. You can block all photos on your website, photos only from your homepage, photos from specific single posts or single pages. If you are concerned about protecting the copyright of your photos, or particular photos, this plugin is for you. You can now stop chasing those who are using your images that they find through Pinterest or Google images.

Get the Pinterest Block plugin, if it’s right for you!

I really don’t worry about people stealing my pics. And I have some nice ones. It is nice to know if there is one I don’t wish to be shared, I can limit its exposure.

For me the issue isn’t stealing, it is making sure people are still referenced back to my blog. I have toyed with the idea of a watermark on all photos. Not sure if it is worth the extra effort. I might use this plugin for some of my professional photos.
