Now that you know why you need a Facebook Page & how to get more fans, what else can you do with your Facebook Page?
You can customize your page with tabs to make the user experience more fun. If you are a food blogger, you may want to add a tab dedicated to recipes, deal bloggers may want to post links to coupons, organizing blogger may want to post links or photos to their favorite organizing products etc.
Most bloggers might want to add a “suggest this” tab so that their those that like your page can suggest it easily to their friends. There are a bunch of reasons you may want to add one, and here is how you do it.
When you are logged into Facebook, install the Static FBML Facebook application on your fan page by selecting “Add To My Page”. FBML stands for Facebook Markup Language. It is “an evolved subset of html”, which basically means you can add certain html code to your Facebook tab.
![]()
A pop up window will appear that lets you select the page you wish to add it to. Make your selection and select “Add To Page”.
Now, you must edit the FBML Tab you just added. To do this, go back to your fan page and select “Edit Page”
On your admin page, scroll down until you find the FBML Application. When you find it, select “edit”
This blank box will appear:
In the “Box Title” enter the name you want displayed as the name of your tab. In this example I will choose “Blog Roll”. Inside the FMBL page, you will enter the html code. Here are some common html codes you might use:
<a href=”http://www.anyurlgoeshere.com” target=”_blank”>Name Of Website You Are Linking To</a>
In this tag, href specifies the destination of a link (where it is going to go). The target=”_blank”>, specifies that the link should open in a new window. If you want to create external links to coupons or websites, this is an easy way to do it.
To add a button or graphic, use the following code:
<a href=”http://www.anyurlgoeshere.com” target=”_blank”><img border=”0″ alt=”Name Of Website You Are Linking To Goes Here” src=”http://www.imagelocationgoeshere.com/image-3529301″/>
In the bold sections, replace the links with your own links.
The code for a “Suggest This” Tab is below. Replace the bold lines with your pages info.
<fb:request-form
method=”post”
action=”http://www.facebook.com/OrganicDeals”
type=”Organic Deals & Coupons”
invite=”true”
content=”Suggest Organic Deals & Coupons To Your Friends<fb:req-choice url=’http://www.facebook.com/OrganicDeals‘ ‘ label=’Take Me There’ /> “>
<fb:multi-friend-selector actiontext=”Suggest Organic Deals To Your Friends” rows=”4″ showborder=”true” />
</fb:request-form>
Once you have your coded added, select “Save Changes”. Return to your admin page ( select “edit page” on your Facebook page) and then find your new tab you created. Select “Application Settings”. When you get the pop up box, change your Profile settings to:
Box: Available
Tab: Added
This will make the tab appear on your main fan page with the name you chose. You de-select the “box”, so you do not have it on your page twice. Select “Okay” and return to your main fan page and see your new tab!
To add an additional tab, return to your fan page admin panel and select “edit” on the tab you just created. Scroll down and on the left, you will see “Add another FBML box”, Select it and you will see another one appear in your admin panel.

I want a coupons tab on my fan page, but when I generate code from coupons.com site, it won’t work on the page, and the page comes up blank.
It’s not standard img code, so I’m not sure that’s the problem. If any of you find out how to add in coupon.com’s code, will you please let me know?
Thanks!1

However, I I have tried every suggestion for the Suggest This and I can’t make it work. Is it possible this is one of the things you can only do when you have 1,000 fans?
I’ve even tried copying the code exactly, like I was suggesting Organic coupons and deals and it didn’t work.

The code works well in tab but it doesn’t work at the end, even the Organic Deals does not work, after trying to suggest to friends all you get is a waring message “Sorry, your request could not be processed.” Every fan page who has this code gives you the same error. It may be that Facebook changed it preferences and tabs cannot be as wide as they were before?
Thanks and would love to find a solution.

Copy this code below and change the names, text, and web address for your FB page:
<fb:request-form
method="post"
action="/index.php"
type="Eastside of Eden Photography"
invite="true"
content="Suggest Eastside of Eden Photography to your friends"
“>

This is a website that offers customizable facebook tabs.
You select the objects or images from the left panel and move them to where you want them to be. Then, click “add page tab” and it will create a tab on your fan page. Been working fine for me.
