Editorial Calendar – WordPress Plug-In

by 5 Dollar Dinner Mom on November 8, 2010

For the first 2 years of blogging, I ran things with a “fly by the seat of my pants” kind of mentality.

Then I installed the Editorial Calendar plug-in. And I “fly by the seat of my pants” no more!!!

I can now work several days, even weeks out…staying one step ahead of myself every week!  This takes away the stress, the pressure and the worry about getting a post up on time. It helps you see where your posts are and how your weeks and months are shaping up for content.

I have also found it helpful for managing and scheduling giveaways. As soon as I come to an agreement with a company about their product giveaway, I create a draft with all the information we discussed and put the draft on the calendar for the agreed upon day that it will go live. (Of course, things get moved and bumped all the time!)

If you are planning on writing a series, sit down when you have a large chunk of time and write out the entire series…then schedule it all out on your editorial calendar.

The plugin is called WordPress Editorial Calendar, created by Zack Grossbart. For more information about the plugin.

It’s a quick simple install through your plugins page on the dashboard…and shows up in your dashboard like this…

It has revolutionized the way I blog…and I want it to do the same for you.

I hope this plugin helps you better see, better grow and better write on your blog!

I’m a visual person so this would be really helpful for me! I’ve tried to use Google calendar to do this, but having all of this right inside WordPress saves that step outside WP to access a calendar. Thanks for this tip, it’s timely for me right now!!
