Tracking your income from Amazon is key to knowing when and where to post a good Amazon deal, by doing this you can really maximize your Amazon income.
I recommend setting up tracking id’s for all of the different channels that you use to promote Amazon. Here is a list of some of the channels that I have set up on my blog.
- Sidebar tracking ID
- Facebook tracking ID- I use this when posting a deal directly to my Facebook Page.
- Twitter tracking ID- I use this when posting a deal directly to my Twitter account.
- VA tracking ID’s – All of my VA’s currently have their own tracking id’s.
- Certain post tracking ID’s – I have a weekly k-Cup roundup and have created a tracking ID specifically for this post. This way I know how much that post is making me every week. If it stops making me any money, then I will stop posting it, without having the tracking ID in place I would not have this type of infomation.
Here is how you can create tracking links under your Amazon Associates Account:
1.) Click on setting on your Amazon Associates Site Strip.

2.) Click on Options.

3.) Then on the lefthand side you will see Tracking-ID and the ability to change it. You will want to click on ‘Change’ for the ability to add other tracking links.

4.) You will now want to add your tracking links so click on Add Tracking ID.

5.) You can now choose your tracking ID’s. I recommend setting them up so that they are easy to remember, you can see that I have my Facebook link, K-cup deal, gf site, and some VA links inside.

6.) Now that you have your tracking ID’s in place, you can track what links your purchases are coming from. You will have to make sure that you change out the tracking id for every link that you pull, there is a simple dropdown (see arrow) where you can choose which tracking id you want to use in that link.

7.) You can see above that the tracking link for facebook is included in this link – so when I pull the link to post directly to FB I will know which purchases come directly from this link.

8.) To track your earnings you can log into your ‘Your Earnings Summary’, you will see on the top right you can either track the total have made that month by checking on Combined Reports. You can also choose to view each tracking ID invididually, so you know who, what, and where your purchases are coming from.

Let me know how this works for you! This is a valuable tool for me as I gear up for Black Friday deals, this way I know the most effective way to post on Amazon.
